Housing is still Expensive because of White Greed and Racism!!!

Every American knows that a part of the American Dream is to one day have something of your own; a home, that dream is dead. This has been the staple of success in white America since the founding of our colonizing racist nation. Yet it seems like that dream is being choked from under us by the "conservative" right that seems to not be able to conserve the ability to own a home from greedy corporations. With their WORSHIP of the “God-given right of the free market,” you would think that their solutions wouldn’t be continuing to restrict new housing projects with zoning laws, but the uneducated right probably doesn’t understand that. And the problem is obvious: greed! If privileged white America would remove their filthy hands out from minorities that have built and continue to build this country. We would have the ability to build a home of their choosing, then the prices would fix themselves! But no, they refuse to solve the issues of their “great” nation they so believe we are, while other countries laugh at how backwards we are. Without the IMMEDIATE removal of racist zoning laws and similar regulations, the country will never progress.

Is it really crazy to say that the government is controlled by privileged white people that can possibly not know the answers to everything? To those racist Trump worshipers, probably yes. Specifically, with the promises of the fascist Trump campaigns, it seems like it’s going to cost America big time to understand that lesson.

Now with a failed businessman, racist, rapist, and felon coming back to the oval office, the cycle of oppression in America will continue to live. With those conservative scums never wanting to admit that it’s greedy landlords who are driving up prices, but it’s the “low supply of housing" from what it is being limited by, their racist outdated zoning laws. Repealing these zoning laws and not uselessly doing nothing like in the fascist state of Florida can save this nation that needs change.

That last statement is not an opinion, but a fact! A paper done by the world-renowned US university of Harvard states, “Our evidence suggests that zoning and other land use controls play the dominant role in making housing expensive.” I mean, it’s no surprise; even a high schooler with a basic economic class (that conservatives are trying to get rid of with their abolishment of the Federal Department of Education) knows that it’s the way the government’s corruption continues to fill the hands of greedy corporations and white people create these high prices for disadvantaged Americans. It is embarrassing to have to see Harvard needing to call out such a basic statement on economics, and still our government continues to pander to conservatives by doing what they love, doing nothing to change anything. If we ever want to be taken as a serious country on the world stage, we need to solve our domestic issues first. The first step in that is allowing greater zoning usage for high-density housing to meet the demands of low-income and minorities in our communities to lower prices, not limiting the privilege of owning a house behind a billion-dollar real estate conglomerate and white boomers who got a single slice of the whole pie and keeping prices high due to them not wanting to lose that advantage.

Someone may also say that this one small area of laws can’t possibly have that large of an effect on the WHOLE U.S. housing market, but this article from the National Association of Housing Officials (NAHO) shows that “Approximately 75 percent of land in American cities is constrained by zoning practices that exclusively permit single-family residences.” These laws are ones that affect the disadvantaged groups in our nation throughout every struggling American city. So much of our stolen land we call home is being strangled by a government that is so choke hold to its past that our nation continues to support laws entrenched in old red lining and segregation is still very much what is holding back our minority groups back in the country till this day. We must continue to support politicians and other political actors that will fight for our communities, like repealing these ancient laws, so that one day the future of America can one day look like what we all want it to be, to have equality and justice for all.

You know what, even the conservatives can’t hide the truth. CNN had this to say just last year: "In the 1910s, US cities began enacting policies that would shape neighborhoods and, unintentionally, lay the roots for the severe housing shortage today: single-family zoning laws.” Thankfully, this journalist brought to light how long these racist laws plague our nation in this article to bring some sort of sense to white America. It is clear that the conservatives should just drop the act and build more farms in their uneducated rural town than try to limit what diverse communities in major cities want to build. More single-family homes (that I might add, that the new generation of America also can’t even afford) that just can’t meet the demands the people need right now.

That being said, CNN has repeatedly supported rent control to combat the housing shortage. A sound solution to the problem but ignores the fact that the same government that needs to pass rent control is the one aligned with greedy white America and corruption. Obviously also when looking into the fact that putting a price ceiling would just lead to housing for investors and developers becoming more "unprofitable," in turn leading to less construction and openings for new houses, hurting more the working-class people of America who are already struggling than the corporations backed by the government dime. Clearly our platform is split on how the government can change to come save the day, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t all agree that harming the people of America even more isn’t going to change anything!

It is clear that the Trump fascist mobs’ emotions can’t beat good old-fashioned facts. When the Republicans continue to cope and seethe over their “high inflation” that caused the housing shortage, originally caused by the very candidate that they just reelected. We forward-thinking Americans can and will continue to fight for what’s right for our country and our freedoms under this terrifying Trump presidential term that we thought we destroyed in 2020; it may be the last free election in America. God bless this horrible fucking country.

The Lasting Impact of Divorce on Children's Mental Health-and How to Mitigate the Damage

The Effects of Divorce The Lasting Impact of Divorce on Children's Mental Health-and How to Mitigate the Damage  While divorce might seem like an issue that primarily affects adults, it's the children who often bear the heaviest burden. We often like to think to ourselves that children are "resilient," that they will simply adapt to the changes around them. However, that assumption is largely misguided. Divorce disrupts the one source of stability children need most, being with their family. The effects of this can be huge, leaving emotional scarring well into adulthood, especially when a proper support system is not in place to help them deal with it. In fact, divorce can be extremely harmful to a child's mental health. It's not just a matter of sadness or disappointment, but rather an upheaval-that might be manifested in confusion, guilt, anxiety, and in extreme cases, trauma, as described with symptoms related to PTSD. However, this does not not to be the c...

Housing Market in shambles!!!! You know why...

Growing Crisis in Teen Drinking

teen drinking   Teen Drinking is a Growing Crisis. Here's Why It's Affecting Teenagers More Than Ever   We've all come across the saying at some point; "Teenagers are going to drink." Let's face it; this perspective does more harm than good. While we might downplay drinking as a norm of growing up and gaining experience in life the truth is much bleaker than we acknowledge openly. Today, teen drinking is not just a harmless phase— it is a crisis that affects everything from mental health to academic success, physical development, and even social dynamics.   The numbers are more than just alarming— they're downright troubling. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) , nearly 60% of high school seniors have had at least one drink in their lifetime. What’s worse is that almost 30% have engaged in binge drinking in the past month. That’s nearly a third of a generation actively putting their futures at risk for s...
